This project was a small, handheld spectrophotometer designed to interface with a tablet or smartphone. The device was used to measure color samples, calibrate color printers and monitors, match color between different devices, and construct ICC profiles. Originally intended for commercial print and sign making, the device works well for interior design, construction, and quality control. The base unit serves as a charging station and for white point calibration. Inside the instrument are the spectrophotometer module, rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, Wi-Fi module and USB interface. The instrument can function wirelessly, or via USB.
