PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
- Create detailed CAD models for a variety of hand sketched ID concepts
- Create photorealistic renderings of all concepts
- Produce different configurations of many of the designs
SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES
Pipeline worked in conjunction with California PD firm Surfaceink and an industrial designer to produce photorealistic images of several concepts for Dolby’s new Atmos cinema processor line. Hand sketches were delivered, from which Pipeline produced detailed 3D CAD models. The CAD models were then imported into a rendering program for material application, lighting, and final output.
Per Dolby’s request, several subtle design variations were included for many of the design concepts. Options such as button size and placement, LED color, font placement, etc were meticulously examined by the industrial designer and modified by Pipeline to produce a rich set of imagery from which Dolby selected their final design.
